An award-winning writer and publicist with 17 years of professional experience, Jeff Louderback started his career as a reporter and editor at newspapers and magazines before entering the public relations field. His dual background in journalism and public relations allows him to write copy that gets clients noticed, and effectively communicate with reporters and editors whose language Jeff understands. Jeff has extensive experience in the health care, real estate and development, sports and entertainment, hospitality and business-to-business fields.
Simply put, Jeff is a creative wordsmith who knows how to implement public relations campaigns, develop story angles, and craft press releases and copy, that attracts the media’s attention. A native of Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication at Wright State University, Jeff served as a sports writer for the Xenia Daily Gazette, a features writer for Amos Suburban Newspapers and an editor for Small Business News before becoming editor and publisher of a regional pet care magazine that he started and built.
His experience also includes a dual role as editor of a commercial real estate publication and assistant editor of a weekly business newspaper in Dayton, Ohio before he joined the Greene County Department of Economic Development as the organization’s first public relations manager.
Before opening Write Perceptions, Jeff started the public relations division of what is now the nation’s largest restaurant marketing and public relations firm. He was director of media relations – crafting story angles; writing press releases and articles; generating coverage in local, regional and national media outlets; and implementing public relations campaigns – while helping build this firm.
Jeff also has an in-depth background in sports. As a sports writer for the Xenia Daily Gazette, he covered high school and college sports, as well as the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. He has written numerous athlete profiles and sports features for regional and national magazines, including pro sports team fan magazines and regional publications like Sports Spectrum and Sports Unlimited Southeast. He also served as freelance editor of OverTime Magazine, a national publication for and about professional athletes, which ceased publication last summer. In addition, Jeff is the founder, editor and Red Sox moderator and writer of Sox and Pinstripes (www.soxandpinstripes.com), a blog and online forum about all things Red Sox, Yankees and baseball. Sox and Pinstripes has gained enough respect to obtain media credentials at several American League ballparks, which is a rarity for blogs.
Jeff has generated coverage for his clients in multiple local, regional and national media outlets. Forbes, Fortune, Fortune Small Business, the New York Times, Robb Report, Smart Money, InTouch Weekly, Inc., Entrepreneur, Southern Living, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the Washington Post are just a small sampling of publications where Jeff’s clients have appeared. Jeff also secures coverage for his clients in TV and radio broadcast media outlets.
As a freelance journalist, Jeff has earned awards for his feature writing. He has written numerous personality profiles, travel and lifestyle features, business trend features, entrepreneur profiles and health and wellness features. His work appears in regional and national consumer and trade magazines.
