If you have a four-year degree and are considering a return to school to pursue a career in nursing, we invite you to attend an open house at Remington College of Nursing to learn more about our new program offering.
The open house will be held on Friday, December 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at our brand new campus facilities at 660 Century Point, Suite 1050. The facilities are just off of I-4, in Lake Mary, Florida.
Remington College of Nursing offers an accelerated 12-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program for students who already have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a different field. This four-quarter program begins on January 26, 2009. After successful program completion, students will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.
At the open house, prospective students can meet the College’s faculty members and staff, speak with financial aid advisors, and tour the classrooms and labs, where they will see demonstrations of state-of-the-art equipment such as human patient simulators in a re-created hospital setting.
Campus Director and Dean Valerie Browne-Krimsley, EdD, RN, says, “Our open house will give students a chance to see what the program will entail so they will have an idea of what to expect when they begin the program. For example, they will see what it’s like to practice on human simulators in a hospital setting and experience what it feels like to take care of patients in a hospital. The simulators can talk to you, for example, in response to what you do or don’t do,” Dr. Browne-Krimsley added.
Applications for Remington College of Nursing’s inaugural four-quarter program are still being accepted until the class is full. If you are interested in enrolling, your application materials must be submitted no later than December 29, 2008. Admission requirements include a four-year college degree and completed courses in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, chemistry, statistics, a social science (sociology or psychology), and English. Prospective students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. In addition, they must have a 2.75 grade point average or higher in the sciences.
